I have a violin shaped 6 string electric guitar. It has 2 f-holes one on each side just like an over sized violin. There is also a plastic bridge that is entirely removable. This bridge has two knobs that allow it’s height to be adjusted. I have heard that you should position the bridge in between the cross lines of the f holes. I don’t know if this is true for a violin guitar or not. I have no idea how high to set the bridge though. I’ve watched youtube videos on hollow body guitars, but they all have the metal bridge that attaches to the guitar with the screws that raise and lower the action. Mine has no screws, just the knobs to adjust it’s height. Anyone have any experience with 6 string violin shaped guitars? I am asking because I have some serious tuning issues with this one. Not sure if it’s a problem with the neck or the bridge, but consider the bridge is very easily adjustable I figure I’ll try that first. I might be able to send pictures to anyone who thinks they can help.
Thank you for the prompt answer…I have just one more question involving this…if I tune the guitar and then I check the tuning with an electronic tuner at the 12th fret like you suggested, which way do I move the bridge to adjust the pitch flat or sharp? For example, if the 12th fret is sharp, do I move the bridge toward the pickups or away from the pickups in order to flatten the pitch?
